Full-scale demonstrator

Presentation is important

Dacat designed the exterior including the smart functions of the conceptboat All Aboard. It is important the presentation of a concept is attractive and informative. Dacat made an animation showcasing the concept as well as, together with Space Production, helped construct a full-scale demonstrator. Both the animation and the demonstrator were shown at the international boat show "Allt för sjön" in Stockholm March 2-11.

On the left you can see our animation made by Maria Frenning and below that a video clip showcasing the demonstrator. The demonstrator concept allows many people to simultaneously see the boats interior. See the picture below. This solution removes the need for people to go into a boat one at a time which you normally would have to do at a boat show. Since the demonstrator is in full-scale the concept becomes more tangible and not just an idea which is difficult to picture, resulting in a more memorable exhibit for the visitors.

Brief: Design of the boat concept "All Aboard"
with the goal to include what women want in a leisure boat without excluding men's wishes.

SOCIAL, SMART, SAFE

Dacats competence in design, engineering, visualisation and animation contributed to a boat concept and demonstrator. (See out animation and more about the demonstrator on the next page.) The premiere of the idea boat was Friday the 2nd of March at the International Boat SHow "Allt för sjön" in Stockholm.

The project has been carried out in dynmic collaborations with the goal to show ideas for the boats of the future. Focus was on what womens want in a leisure boat without excluding men. Main words were social, smart and safe.

The future sail- and motorboats

The assigment was to design a boat with social, smart, and safe solutions and functions. These solutions were shown with the help of a full-scale demonstrator. The solutions and functions Dacat came up with can be applied both on sailboats and motorboats.

The solutions were in line with existing needs and wishes expressed by todays enthusiats. A few examples of some of the functions:

Social - Expandable cockpit / sliding floor, cabriolet roof opening upp bwteen cockpit and salon.
Smart - Logical flow of movement, fore-bumper, assisted debarkation
Safe - COmbined bath and rescue ramp.

Demonstration bag for medical equipment

Brief: Design of case used during demonstration of the medical equipment used for invitrofertilisation.

Protect the equipment

The project was carried out from idea to finished product. The bag's primary requirements was to protect the equipment and be light so as to make it easier to bring along on demonstrations. Both of these requirements were achieved by having foam with cut-outs hold the equipment in place. The foam is light and protects the equipment with its soft and cushioning properties. The weight is also kept low thanks to the case being made out of canvas cloth.

The case's other features is convenience during demonstrations as well as a clean and professional design expression. Both if these features are of great importance to the salesperson. The placement of the equipment was carefully thought through to follow a natural sequence during a demonstration, but also to be space efficient and compact. The simple and clean design lends to a professional look.

Tagline

Brief: Present a new tagline for Qualisys.

Short but meaningful

In time for the launch of new website Qualisys needed an efficient way to communicate their top-of-the-line competence.
A "tagline" is a simple way for companies to convey a message and a feeling. In order to extract the values Qualisys stands for Dacat did a survey of their core values and vision, competitors communication methods and brainstormed about different angles on the message form. We worked out a number of different proposals and the final choice was: "Quality in Motion - gives you the best references."

Food packaging

Brief: Graphic design/layout of cardboard packaging of ready-made lunch-box.

Conveys good home-cooking

Östgöta kök wanted help with the graphical design of their ready-made lunch-boxes. In the design we used photos and images provided by Östgöta Kök that they feel reflect their company and its values. The packagaing conveys genuine home-cooked food.

Förmedlar högtalarnas formspråk

Grafiken anpassades till fem olika storlekar. Idéer för grafiken baserades på DLS som ett företag och varumärke samt högtalarnas formspråk. Slutliga resultatet lyckas förmedla högtalarnas formspråk - modern och exklusiv.

Brief: Graphics on the packaging of the Flatbox speakers.

Conveys the design language

The graphics were adapted to five different speaker sizes. Ideas for the graphics were based on DLS as a company and brand as wella as the speakers design language. The final result conveys the speakers' design language - high-end and modern.

Brief: Protective case for an Extrima-detector with focus on safety and ergonomics.

Safety & ergonomics

The focus of the project was to solve problems of safety and ergonomics in ATEX-environments, i.e. work environment with risk of explosive chemical mixtures.

To prevent sparks the bag is easy to handle in tight spaces and protects the leakage detector well.
